Emphasis on experiences makes The Table Bay one of the world’s most memorable
The Table Bay, part of Sun International’s premium SunLux Collection of hotels and touted as Cape Town’s Best Address, continues to be ranked amongst the world’s finest locations. The five star hotel has recently received two more awards to add to its collection of 31 awards.
Since its grand opening in 1997 by the iconic former South African president, the late Nelson Mandela, The Table Bay has received accolades in some of the world’s most prestigious awards programmes. Amongst these are the TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Awards; Condé Nast Traveler Awards; Professional Management Review (PMR) Awards; the World Quality Summit Awards; Travel and Leisure magazine’s top 100 hotels in the world, the World Luxury Hotels Awards; the AA Travel Guides Awards, and British Airways’ Reevoo Awards amongst others. In 2014, The Table Bay received a TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Award, placing the hotel in the top 1% of all hotels on the world’s largest travel website.
“More than delivering world class hospitality and amenities, the emphasis from the outset has been on creating thoughtful experiences that live long in the hearts of our guests. Service excellence, quality and professionalism are a given. Our promise is to deliver a warm and authentic South African experience; an experience that acknowledges the depth and diversity of cultures, landscapes, people, cuisine and activities not found elsewhere in the world. That most of the awards we have received are based on feedback from guests demonstrates that we are succeeding at creating experiences that touch their hearts enough to inspire them to share them with others. For us, this is tremendously rewarding. The awards are certainly a reflection of our employees’ contribution to the hotel’s continuing success. People are at the heart of delivering the quintessential South African experience for which The Table Bay is renowned,” says General Manager, Joanne Selby.
Set on the historic Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, with the working harbour, Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean providing its backdrop, The Table Bay offers convenient proximity to Cape Town’s business centre and array of tourist attractions.
Since its inception, The Table Bay has remained unwaveringly true to its roots as a proudly South African hotel, with its history inextricably linked with that of the country’s history. Its interiors and décor tell a story of the country’s colourful cultural heritage, colonial and maritime history as part of the spice route.
The Table Bay boasts 329 opulent rooms offering panoramic views of the ocean or waterfront; a luxurious spa; five function venues, and a beautiful pool-deck.
The Table Bay provides a holistic suite of services and facilities designed to make its guests’ stays exceptional. With an emphasis on delivering quality experiences, The Table Bay continues to differentiate in the competitive tourism industry.
