Carnival City - Where Business and Pleasure Meet
Offering an array of cosmopolitan entertainment experiences, a choice of restaurants, two hotels, a spa, conferencing facilities, the versatile Sun Park and a state-of-the-art events arena, Carnival City is a premier destination for work and play in Ekurhuleni.
A 20 minute drive from O.R Tambo International Airport and within close proximity to shopping malls and the N17highway, Sun International’s colourful Carnival City is a convenient and secure venue for exhibitions, banquets, conferences and business and lifestyle events.
Carnival City boasts ten distinctive venues that can accommodate conferences and events of all types and sizes.
The newest venue, Sun Park, incorporates a marquee structure, deck and an outdoor beach area, offering the facilities and support services of an indoor events venue, with the flexibility of an outdoor space. It features a semi-permanent flexible infrastructure, built around a sophisticated 3 000 square metre grid that can be arranged into any configuration. With Sun Park’s modular design, the customizations are limitless and there is access to all amenities for bringing even the most over-the-top events to life – from food festivals, product launches and banquets to exhibitions, concerts, pageants and other experiences.
The Mardi Gras Theatre and Big Top Arena are situated within the Carnival City complex. Both can be booked for product launches, conventions and corporate events. The Mardi Gras Theatre can host 240 people for a banquet, 300 guests for a cocktail event and 540 people for a conference in a cinema style setup. The ample Big Top Arena can accommodate 700 guests for a banquet and dance event, 1 400 people for a conference, in a cinema style setup.
The three Rio Rooms, Rio Suites and Rio Ballroom/Suite are situated at the four-star Carnival Club Hotel which adjoins the bustling complex. The Rio Rooms can accommodate between 60 and 80 delegates while the Rio Ballroom is well suited for larger events of up to 400 people for a cinema style setup, 250 people (without a stage) for a banquet and 300 guests for a cocktail setup. The Afrisun Boardroom, also located at the hotel, can host small meetings of 6 to 20 (max) people.
Carnival City also offers smaller break away venues to complement the Rio Ballroom. The Rio 1, 2 and 3 venues can host 80 people in a cinema style set up. They can be used as three separate rooms or as one larger venue that can accommodate 250 people for a banquet or 300 in a cinema style set up.
