Updates and Closures
We apologise sincerely for any inconvenience that the following closing dates may cause.
Due to limitations on capacity, access to Sun City Resort will only be granted to Hotel and Sun Vacation Club residents, existing MVG members, guests with confirmed golf bookings and guests that have prepurchased Valley of Waves Day Visitor Tickets. View our FAQs for more information.
No tickets will be sold on the day, tickets need to be prepurchased. Limited tickets available daily. No tickets will be sold at the resort.
Sun City Resort
- The Crocodile Village is closed.
- Vortex Virtual Lounge and Breakout Games have moved to Sun Central, next to The Magic Company.
- Hall of Fame is closed, and will be moving to the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

The Palace
The Palace hotel is currently undergoing a well-deserved soft rooms refurbishment. We apologise sincerely for any inconvenience that this may cause.
Sun Vacation Club
- Ornaldus, our beloved elephant, will be returning! He will be located adjacent to the guest bus stop at Sun Vacation Club.
- Vida e Caffè Express has been opened in The Pantry especially for Sun Vacation Club guests.
Valley of Waves
- Food Factory, at the Valley of Waves, has been replaced with Steers and Milky Lane.
- Milky Lane in Sun Central is still operational.
- The Bridge of Time has been restored so guests can again experience the theatrical display of vibrations, rumbling earthquake sounds and smoke every hour, on the hour.
Gary Player Country Club
The Gary Player Country Club Golf Course is closed every Monday for Maintenance.
2022 hollow tining dates: 28 March – 1 April and 29 August – 2 September.
2023 hollow tining dates: 13 – 17 March and 21 – 25 August.
The Lost City Golf Course
The Lost City Golf Course is closed every Tuesday for maintenance.
2022 hollow tining Dates: 28 March – 1 April 2022 and 29 August – 2 September 2022
2023 hollow tining Dates: 17 – 21 April and 4 – 8 September.
